News about George

We became concerned about George over this last weekend - he had stopped eating and was not making his regular morning outing in the terrarium. After 3 days, I called our local reptile store and described our problem.

Turns out that this is a normal phase in male skinks referred to as a "breeding fast". Basically, George is conserving his energy and preparing his body for..."mating". Yes, ladies and gentlemen, George is on the prowl for a female. (The guy at the pet store said that at most this will last 2 weeks, after which George will give up until next year.)
